Telangana is well known for historical Textile sector operations with 50,000 power looms, 17,000 handlooms and skilledworkforce. It isthe 3rd highest cotton producing state in India with annual production of about 5 mn bales. After having excelled in the fields of IT and Pharma, Telangana are nowweaving dreams of making it big in the textilessector. To begin with, the state issetting up the country’slargest park Kakatiya Mega Textile Park(KMTP) – spread over 1,200 acresthatwill offer a complete manufacturing ecosystem for the textiles and apparel industry within its premises. Due to favorable climate for cotton cultivation, the manufacturing and production of cotton is in abundance and the textile companies are nevershort of raw material. The traditional handloom sector is the prime component for the textile companies and the government is planning for an all-inclusive development agenda strengthening the textile sector for both the types.
At present there are 230,000 weavers and artisans, employed by the textile companies in the state who are skilled in the handicraft and their handloom products are renowned. The State Government iskeen on developing the textile companiesin Hyderabad asit is a suitable place for trading and manufacturing.
On the other hand,Andhra Pradesh iswell-known for its huge variety oftraditional silk and cotton saris. Many districts in Andhra Pradesh have their own unique weaving patterns,styles and methods. Apart from the designs, the fabric that is been used in making the sari is different from one district to another. The Government hasimplemented many Schemesfor Integrated Textile Park(SITP) which provides support for creation of world-class infrastructure facilities for setting up of textile units.
In recent time many small and medium garment and embroidery factories have started in these regions for domestic consumption. Looking at the growing demand for new technology, Vardaan events organized the 2nd edition of Garfab-TX in Hyderabad. The show was held from June 06 – 08, 2024, at the Classic Gardens Paradise Circle, Hyderabad. The three-day fair saw display of latest machinery for CAD, Sewing Machines, Embroidery Machines, Digital & Screen Printing Machines, Spare Parts & Accessories. The three-day event was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Dr. Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao, Chairman from Backward Classes Commission with leading industry players. In this exhibition, a total of 30 exhibitorsrepresenting more than 40 brands, both international and domestic,which attracted around 2650 visitorsfrom thisregion.
During the show, many leading players likeJack- SVR, Baba Embroidery, HSW, Fortever, Aarohi Sewing Machine, Anayan Embroidery, UME Embroidery, Impress from the industry presented the live demo of their latest innovations to the customers. It was biggest exhibition of sewing and single head embroidery machines under one roof in this region. The show provided an opportunity to the leading technology providers from all over world to showcase their latest offerings and giving a boost to the industry’s growth in this region.
While speaking after the show BP Mishra, CEO, Vardaan Events Pvt.
