Software solutions specialist Gerber Technology has released new updates across its suite of industry-leading tools which it says will support companies as they transition to a demand-led business model. Tweaks to the AccuMark 2D and 3D, AccuPlan, AccuNest and YuniquePLM technologies, it’s said, have been made to improve the product development workflow and centres on providing closer integration across the assortment of solutions.

“We are committed to being the partner the industry needs which is why we work closely with our customers on every release,” said Melissa Rogers, Senior Vice President and General Manager for software at Gerber. “We really wanted to make sure that they have the solutions and support they need to keep their doors open and build a foundation for a successful future.”

“For mass production, the process from nesting to production planning is now entirely automated allowing for increased time and material savings, reduced errors and more transparency. Users will also have new cut plan strategies that will allow them to increase production,” the company states, explaining the benefits of these updates. The timing of the changes comes against a backdrop of uncertainty in the fashion and textiles industries, which remain in a state of flux due to COVID-19.

That said, Gerber insists it wants to support the global recovery and will do so by providing the tools to “transform their business to meet the challenges ahead for 2021”.

Of the results, Jeffery Diduch, Senior Vice President of design at Hickey Freeman, said: “The Gerber team has been incredibly helpful throughout the entire process, helping us understand the best way to use AccuMark every day as well as finding ways to improve the tools and features we use to ensure our future success.”

Lisa Lowell of Gerber client LNS CAD Services, added: “I have much more confidence in the patterns that I produce because I have the ability to put them on the Avatar first and see how it’s all going to go together. From a patternmaking standpoint, this is really a powerful tool to make sure it’s going to fit first.”
