In an exclusive interview with Apparel Views, Paresh Gondalia of PICKWELL TEXTILE MACHINERY reaffirms his company’s commitment to serve the textile segment with technologically advanced products and more about their upcoming launch of RIFA Seamless Knitting Machine.

Give us a brief introduction about yourself and your company?
I am one of the Directors in PICKWELL TEXTILE MACHINERY. Soon after completing my CA in 2010, I joined my family business of textile and started a new wing to serve this segment as I felt that technological upgradation is the only option to survive and grow any business. With that mission, PICKWELL started with rapier weaving loom and gradually progressing from there, started offering all types of weaving loom such as rapier, waterjet, airjet looms and knitting products like circular knitting machines, seamless knitting machines and socks knitting machines. In the year 2017, PICKWELL joined hands with world’s biggest textile machinery manufacturer RIFA MACHINES and made significant presence in Surat’s weaving segment by supplying most qualitative products.

What is your new product offering for India and give us a brief about the same?
We are launching our new product SEAMLESS KNITTING MACHINE at GARTEX exhibition being held from 1st to 3rd Aug. 2024 at Delhi. Seamless Knitting Machine is yet again a quality product from RIFA, which has a very bright future in India because this machine can make so many types of garments readily and it gives so much comfort compared to normal and traditional garments. This machine can make shape wear, thigh shaper, saree shaper, tummy tucker, body suit, lingerie, panty, boy short, basic bra, cami, thong, active wear, sports bra, legging, tenk top, crop top, t-shirts, men’s vest and so on.

What is the existing market scenario of Seamless Knitting Machines?
As we all know, India is an emerging market for garment industry and presently there are around 600 machines running in our country but as per my estimate, thousands of machines are going to be installed in next two decades to fulfil market needs.

What is the USP of RIFA’s Seamless Knitting Machines and makes you think that it will succeed in India?
RIFA Seamless Machine’s quality is at par with European machines and in any industry, market is always competitive both in terms of pricing and quality. Our machines cost almost half compared to European machines while being at par on quality. If initial project cost is reasonable then even MSME can think about planning a project that will enable this industry to grow rapidly with so much creativity as well. We have customers who run European machines at present, but now they have planned to buy our machines.

What makes you believe that RIFA’s Seamless Machines will be a good option for the market against existing European Machines?
RIFA has a huge production capacity of different kinds of machines which leads to lower cost of production and ultimately makes our machine’s prices highly affordable with uncompromising performance and quality. Everyone knows that in Europe, cost of production is so high and quantity is impossible to match with RIFA, so obviously this leads to their machine being costlier. Cost of product plays a vital role in survival as well as growth. Many European brands which were top before have no existence right now.

I am basically from the textile hub of Surat, Gujarat and with 15 years of working in my business and personal experience I can very well say that when it comes to textile industry’s growth, Surat is different from rest of India, because a Surat entrepreneur accepts China brand machines very easily and they know that customers want modernized weaving looms and knitting machines at reasonable cost with best quality. As per my view, Surat’s growth in textile industry is noticeable all over the world.

RIFA has customers in their domestic market who have seamless machines like 400 sets under one roof and so on. RIFA is no.1 brand compared to any other Chinese brand. RIFA group is also engaged in automobile industry, aviation industry, precision machines etc. RIFA have two dealers for their weaving machines, PICKWELL for Gujarat and VOLTAS (TATA Group company) for rest of India while for RIFA knitting machines, PICKWELL is the sole selling dealer all over India.

What support your company will give to the buyer who will buy RIFA seamless machines?
If buyer is new for seamless machines, then we will help to set up complete plant as well provide good designer and operator and even try our best to connect them with those buyers who are buying seamless knitting products. Because this is technical machine, they need our good support which is our duty to give them. If a customer already has European machine, it will be easy for them to run our machines with similar functions and for any technical support, we will provide them instantly.

What’s your expectation from the market about your new product RIFA Seamless knitting machine?
As I said, RIFA Seamless knitting machine is best quality machine which is at par with European machines and we have so much confidence in our product that we are completely set to offer our best service, so obviously my expectation from the market is that customers buy maximum machines from us and make us No.1 brand in the near future. I personally believe that let the customer buy one time from us, but if we get repeat order then we believe it is our success since repeat order is a confidence that our product is best, prices are good and our after sales support and service is best and that is our ultimate goal.

How can buyer connect with you and your product RIFA Seamless knitting machines?
